CHATTANOOGA, TENN. (March 14, 2017) – Amid the atmosphere of North America’s oldest sports car race, four fundraising auctions benefiting the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer will be held at Sebring International Raceway on Friday and Saturday, during the Mobile 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida weekend at the famed facility.
The Sebring endurance classic will be held for the 65th time on Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. It will be the second event of the 2017 International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule. The Austin Hatcher Foundation is an official “Proud Charity” of IMSA.
Three of the auctions will involve acclaimed motorsports artist Roger Warrick, whose work has become part of the fabric of the Sebring race. This year marks the 13th time a Warrick painting will be used for the race’s official poster and program. This weekend he will produce three paintings with separate manufacturer themes.
Here’s the rundown of Warrick’s works slated for Sebring:
Friday
8 a.m. – Warrick begins painting at the Corvette Corral.
11 a.m. – Live auction of painting and other Corvette-related items
Saturday
11:30 a.m. – Warrick begins painting at Porsche Corral
4 p.m. – Live auction of painting and other Porsche-related items
5 p.m. – Warrick beings painting at Audi Corral.
6:30 p.m. – Live auction of painting and other Audi-related items.
Warrick has a long history of being a friend to the foundation. One of his works sold for $17,500.00 during the 2008 Petit Le Mans Charity Weekend, another was sold for $35,000 at Sebring in 2012. On both occasions all proceeds went to the Austin Hatcher Foundation.
“It’s nice to do this; it’s good to know that it’s benefiting kids,” Warrick said. “It’s extra motivation for you when you’re painting.”
In addition, from 12:15-12:45 on Friday at the Wayne Taylor Racing transporter in the paddock, another auction will be held on behalf of the foundation. Photography, race car parts and other memorabilia are typically available in at-track auctions held at team haulers during the IMSA season.

Wayne Taylor Racing’s two lead drivers, Jordan and Ricky Taylor along with their new co-driver Alex Lynn started their race week today by assisting the Austin Hatcher Foundation during a visit to see young patients and their families at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando. The hospital visit continued the foundation’s 2017 Diversionary Therapy “road show” which consists of visits to various children’s medical facilities, often in IMSA race markets. The foundation partners with hospitals to provide specialized activities for children and families – supplying a much-needed respite from the everyday realities of a fight against pediatric cancer.
